Finally finished my Peerie Plaid Socks! They were my waiting at the mechanic or volunteering at the gallery socks and completing them took a longer than anticipated. The stitch pattern is easily memorized, and I saw myself casting on for another pair soon after I started this one. The directions state that if you have enough yarn left over (which I did), you can cast on for another pair with the main and contrasting colors swapped, but I think between this pair and my last I should move on from the West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4-Ply for now. The contrasting black is deep stash Premier Serenity Sock, which I’m pretty certain is discontinued. Hoping they get a little tighter in the wash, but pretty pleased with the finished product.
There is also a Peerie Plaid Vest that was posted as a surprise additional pattern for the most recent edition of Knitty which I’m considering casting on. I think I’ll add more of a traditional sweater vest shoulder shaping instead of the almost cap-sleeve design if I were to go for it, though. The stitch pattern lends itself well to shaping increases and decreases. I’ve got a big pile of WIPs so I think I’ll be good and finish one of them instead. Probably. No promises.
